LOOK | A Safer Stop Ahead as CLSU Rolls Out Project SILONG for Commuters

To enhance campus safety, Central Luzon State University (CLSU) convened a joint dialogue with local transport groups and municipal authorities on October 22, 2026, at the New Administration Building. The meeting focused on streamlining passenger loading and unloading along the northbound lane of the national highway in front of the University Marketing Center. Leaders discussed strengthening traffic enforcement and establishing collaborative measures to protect students, staff, locals, and daily commuters. During the dialogue, Vice President for Business Affairs Dr. Karenina B. Romualdo presented Project SILONG (Safe, Inclusive, and Open Space for the New Gen). The initiative designates specific loading and unloading zones for all Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs). As part of Project SILONG, construction is underway for two new waiting sheds in front of the CLSU Marketing Center. Key stakeholders in attendance included representatives from CLSU offices including, the Community Affairs Division, and the Safety and Security Unit. City and local authorities were represented by the Science City of Muñoz Peace and Order and Safety Office, the City Traffic Management Office, the Barangay Bantug Council, and the Barangay Patrol. Law enforcement and transport partners also participated, including the Highway Patrol Group, the Muñoz-CLSU transport group, and MM-JODA. After the completion of Project SILONG, an information and awareness campaign will be launched to inform the CLSU community and the public about the designated loading/unloading zones and campus traffic rules, fostering safety, compliance, and orderly transit across the university. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment from CLSU, local officials, and transport operators to maintain disciplined road practices and improve overall traffic flow around the campus. #SievingForExcellence

LOOK | CLSU Receives 5-Seater Passenger Carrier Donation from an Alumnus

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) officially received a five-seater gasoline passenger carrier donated by alumnus Dr. Nestor Q. Serrano during a Deed of Donation signing with University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella. Dr. Serrano, a businessman and graduate of both the University Science High School (USHS) and the CLSU Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program, turned over the vehicle to support university operations and campus mobility. Dr. Abella formally accepted the passenger carrier on behalf of the university and acknowledged Dr. Serrano's contribution to the institution. The new vehicle will be used for campus-wide transportation needs and daily administrative operations, with a particular focus on supporting activities around the KAMALIG area. #SievingForExcellence
