Virtual 5-day writeshop on module development for open and distance learning
CLSU DOTUni successfully hosted an online writeshop on module development for open and distance learning last June 23-29, 2021. Approximately 70 senior and junior faculty members involved in the delivery of Open University programs participated in the activity. With the theme, ‘responding to the teaching-learning resource needs of the Digital University’ –dubbed as the university of the future, facilitators from CLSU and abroad engaged the participants in lectures and writing activities spread over five (5) days. The topics ranged from the basics of technical writing for instructional materials production, plagiarism (i.e. use of Turnitin software) and copyright concerns, to curating online resources for Google classroom and other teaching-learning platforms and use of open education resources (OERs) in packaging course modules. The activity also served as a venue for CLSU academics across disciplines to dialogue, exchange ideas, compare practices and explore prospective collaborations to anticipate the demand of a digital and ICT-mediated delivery of higher education.
