The Consortium of Open Distance Education in the Philippines (CODEPP) Members gather together for the Review of 2023 Activities and Accomplishments and Planning for 2024-2025, hosted by the CLSU - Distance, Open, and Transnational University (DOT-Uni) held at the Visionary Gate Smart Classroom, Central Luzon State University, Tuesday, April 16. Representatives from various Universities across the Philippines convened both physically and virtually for planning and discussion. Among the distinguished participants gracing the on-site venue were Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), and the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU). Other participants including the Benguet State University (BSU), Cavite State University (CvSu), Ifugao State University (IFSU), and the John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University Arevalo Inc. (JBLFMU) also participated and engaged in the discussion and presentation via Zoom Teleconferencing. Furthermore, a courtesy call was extended to the CLSU Office of the President, entailing a short exchange of conversation and greetings. The event will continue tomorrow for the Colloquium which is affiliated with the CODEPP Planning Event that will be held at the CLSU CEd Teacher's Hall. - Angelica Dadag

Another significant achievement has been unlocked by CLSU DOT-Uni, underscoring its steadfast commitment to providing top-notch distance, open, and transnational education through the successful acquisition of quality assurance measures. Joining the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) as an associate member marks a notable milestone in DOT-Uni's journey, amplifying CLSU's agenda towards internationalization. The path to AAOU for DOT-Uni was paved by the dedicated efforts of its in-house faculty and staff, who diligently adhered to the organization's rigorous documentary and procedural requirements. The AAOU Executive Committee (Execom) confirmed the acceptance of membership, and the approval was officially granted on October 2023. This newly acquired membership opens avenues for DOT-Uni to attain international quality assurance, with the upcoming goal being participation in the Quality Assurance Accreditation process. Becoming a part of this esteemed affiliation with AAOU not only signifies a stepping stone but also unravels many opportunities for DOT-Uni faculty members, staff, and students. It includes the chance to showcase their research at international forums, reaching a diverse global audience annually. Established in 1987, the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) is a non-profit organization promoting open and distance education within the region.
